【Licensing】Food Import Licence


All companies wishing to import, export, or trans-ship food products must be registered and licensed by the Singapore Food Authority in accordance with the relevant laws of Singapore.

Permits are required for the following.

  1. Import, export, or transit of meat and fish products.
  2. Import or transit of fresh fruit and vegetables.
  3. Imported fresh edible eggs

 

Also, registration is required in the following cases.

Import of processed food and food utensils (e.g., pots, blenders, rice cookers, etc.).

Companies that need to apply for registration need to meet the following conditions.

  1. The company should be incorporated in Singapore
  2. Singapore Customs filing approval for the company
  3. Opening of the company’s GIRO account (automated payment service for financial channels)
  4. Other related requirements: e.g. cold storage required for imported eggs.
 
Annual license fees:

Import and export licence for meat and fish products: S$84 per year.

Import/trans-shipment licence for fresh fruit and vegetables: S$378 per annum.

Import license for edible eggs: Free

Register to import processed foods and food utensils: Free
