Petrochemical
Singapore is a leading oil and gas (O&G) equipment and services hub in Asia, with over 3000 established maritime and offshore engineering (M&OE) companies. Our world-class capabilities and excellent connectivity continue to attract more industry players to leverage Asia's robust growth potential.
Excellent Base
Rich Ecosystem
Singapore's advantages in design, engineering, manufacturing, and innovation have attracted the world's largest oil and gas equipment and service companies to establish bases here. These companies include Baker Hughes, Halliburton, National Oilwell Varco, Schlumberger, and TechnipFMC, which use Singapore as the headquarters for regional or global key product lines such as completion tools and artificial lift equipment. In addition, top component and service providers such as Energy Alloys and OMS are also based in Singapore.
Cutting-edge R&D
The Technology Centre for Offshore & Marine, Singapore (TCOMS) is Singapore's first national-level R&D center serving the industry and the broader maritime and ocean engineering sectors. Since its launch in October 2016, TCOMS has driven the development of cutting-edge solutions through public-private partnerships. At the same time, A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research) also collaborates with oil and gas equipment and service companies and research institutions to address challenges such as extreme deep-sea drilling.
World-Class Hub in the Oil and Gas Value Chain
Although Singapore itself has no oil and gas resources, we are one of Asia's top petrochemical hubs and one of the top three exporting refining centers globally. As a leading financial and supply chain hub, equipped with world-class logistics infrastructure, we comprehensively support the business operations and management functions of oil and gas companies headquartered in Singapore. We are also continuously upgrading our infrastructure, such as building an LNG (liquefied natural gas) terminal, and considering the construction of a second terminal.
The world-class integrated energy and chemical hub located on Jurong Island is supporting Asia's growing energy needs.
Singapore will continue to consolidate its position as a leading hub for the oil and gas equipment and service industry in Asia by strengthening infrastructure and driving innovation, helping companies succeed in global competition.
