For qualified foreign entrepreneurs who want to start and operate new businesses in Singapore, it is important to understand which work permit is most suitable for them. Generally, people hear about company registration and "EP" processing, but EP actually represents two different visas.

Here, FOZL gives a brief introduction.

EP – EMPLOYMENT PASS (Senior Staff Visa) If the foreign directors of a Singaporean company have sufficient education and relevant work experience, they can consider applying for this EP.

Another EP is EntrePass (Entrepreneurial Visa)

New Pass or First Renewal: 1 year

Subsequent Renewals: 2 years

Who is eligible to apply for this EntrePass?

You can apply for EntrePass if you meet the following conditions:

1. Have started or intend to start registering a Singapore private limited company with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore.

2. If already registered, the company must have been registered within 6 months of your application for the EntrePass.

3. If not yet registered, you can register the company after knowing the result of your EntrePass application.

You can apply as a Entrepreneur, innovator, or investor to apply for EntrePass.

FOZL Reminder: Please register your Singapore company and apply for the relevant permits only after confirming that you want to do business in Singapore, have a detailed business plan, and have conducted on-site investigations. Don't rush to pay service providers before you've figured out what business you want to do after inquiring about permits. Company registration can be completed within two hours. The beginning is not difficult; rather, the later business development plan and actual operation are more important. Of course, Singapore has a pro-business environment. Using Singapore as a base to develop the 600 million people in ASEAN is a very good choice!
