【Singapore Company Registration Tips】 From September 1, 2023, applicants for Employment Passes (EP) in Singapore will need to have their educational qualifications verified.

April 19, 2023, Singapore's Ministry of Manpower issued a statement indicating that from September 1, 2023 onwards, foreign employees applying for new Employment Passes (EP) must submit educational credential verification The Singapore Ministry of Manpower invited third-party companies that can conduct employee background checks to provide suggestions on how to verify the educational qualifications of Employment Pass applicants.

Singapore's "Complementarity Assessment Framework" (COMPASS) will be implemented from September 1, 2023. Applicants must score at least 40 points in the assessment of four basic items, including monthly salary, education, company employee diversification, and support for hiring locals to apply for a new pass. If renewing a pass, it will be September 1, 2024 that the new framework and educational verification will be implemented.

Currently, when employers apply for Employment Passes for new employees, they are required to ensure that the applicant's educational certificates are not forged.
